Not to piss on anyone's parade, but the rear parking sensors were listed as standard equipment on the 2012 SRT as late as the first day the order banks were opened, and I bought my car thinking that they would be on it, but alas they never made production. Although I can't imagine any owners would trade up for such a small piece of equipment, please be forewarned that Dodge has cried wolf on rear sensors before...

Great, Billet's back!!!!!

Now, I'm wondering if I could upgrade to a new Billet 6.2L SC SRT8 (when they come out) and switch it with my '11 Billet and not have my wife find out? The next new car purchase is supposed to go to her and she can't decide when and what her next car should be. Bummer!

#48 ·
i am excited to hear this about the 6.2 SC to be on the radar... of course... it makes me want to wait, and see if i can save a little more money... but afraid that there will be an additional premium over the already stretching my budget SRT8... so doubtful it will actually work. I'm very interested to know what it can do though!

#54 ·
Yeah I'm going to wait and see if the 6.2L gets released as a special SRT Mopar edition or something like that. Looking forward to seeing the Jazz Blue color but am pleased they're continuing BSP.

Have a nice '12 Ram 1500 as my DD now but would be nice to have a Challenger to drive 7-8 months out of the year.

#57 ·
Hopefully this "6.2L SC SRT" is SO expensive I won't be jealous and try to upgrade. Keeping the price high is the only thing that would keep me from upgrading (otherwise I would have ordered one of those fancy 2013 Shelby Cobras... but in Canada they're going to be $75,000 + dealer markup) :bang:

#64 ·
To clarify, I think he is asking..what features the R/T Plus has that are different from the plain old base R/T.

But the problem is, there is no base R/T...so ALL the features are different. ;)

I feel the same way, hoping for a 8 speed. Is the EVIC dash standard on the 2012 like it shows for the 2013 models?
Does the EVIC have the 0-60 timer too for the SXT?

Disappointed the 8 speed auto isn't available with the V6. I thought the 8 would make it in the 2013 models. Guess I'll start looking for a deal on a 2012.

Last day of production for 2012 models: July 13, 2011

2013 sales Launch: September 1, 2012

Seems like quite a period of down time for no production of Challengers, must need to produce more Chargers and 300's.

Not that I want to replace my Toxic. :IThankYou: Enjoy the ride. :5:

Why are you assuming there will be no production between those dates?

If they launch on 9/1...when do you think they'll have made all those cars they'll be launching? ;)

#78 ·
Wow...FML

Was looking to supplement my current car witha challenger. But my car went and died on thursday. So now I need to make my move on the challenger earlier than I wanted to.
Now I find out I cant get my color (Tungsten) or my preferred model if I dont order within the next few weeks....that kinda sucks.

Than you for the '13 info!
Really wish they would update to the new dash/console to match the rest of Dodge's lineup.

Does this look familiar?

For the 2008 model year, the Magnum received a facelift as well as an updated interior in line with that of the Dodge Charger. The front fascia sported new aggressively squared off headlights and a smaller rectangular grille more reminiscent of the Charger. The SRT-8 variant gained a new hood scoop. A new bright red paint scheme was introduced. After a one year run, Chrysler announced as part of its restructuring plans, the Dodge Magnum would be one of four models discontinued after the 2008.

Or perhaps this:
On November 4, 2009, Dodge President and CEO Ralph Gilles announced that the Viper would end production in the summer of 2010.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Viper#cite_note-13 In February, 2010, Dodge accepted orders for the Viper SRT10 "Final Edition" models. Only 50 of these units will be produced (20 coupes, 18 roadsters and 12 ACRs). "Final Edition" cars carried the special build code, "AXZ", and were to be the very last of the Vipers.

I believe Caliber had changes in their last year as well.

#80 ·
I have seen this happen sometimes on mass-market cars like the Chevrolet Celebrity. The manufacturer is bored with the car and mostly selling to fleets, so the final model year is a "value proposition".

But I'd say it's the exception rather than the rule that a final model year has no tweaks. Manufacturers don't want to saddle their dealers with decontented or non-upgraded models. They add a few colors, some minor interior acroutements, etc.

The ship has sailed on ordering a 2012. I believe in the first post of this thread it says the 2013 order bank opens June 6

I'm sorry...not sure how what I said was taken as picking on you. I was agreeing with you that it sucks that you have to go to a dealer and can't order direct.

Either way...sorry if you took it that way.

#93 ·
Just noticed:

2013 Exterior colors: (all models)

BILLET METALLIC CLEAR COAT (Late Availability)
JAZZ BLUE PEARL COAT (Late Availability)
Late Availability usually means that they are planning to offer the color on a special edition car (R/T and SRT8) with requisite dash plaque, quad exhaust outlets and/or some kind of interior motif treatment.

So... Billet's to be offered as Late Availability, huh? A Billet "Spring Special" edition, perhaps? "Ok Dodge, I listening!!"

only the 1st year and the IE's had dash plaques....all other special colors were just special limited run colors....the DY has the added bonus of a character to go along with the new version of yellow

Give thanks to the State Franchise Laws that make it a criminal offense for an auto manufacturer to sell a new car to anyone but a state-licensed car dealer.

Not necessarily true.
