I am slowly bringing myself back up to speed on the current tech and engines in prep for a new challenger.... From what I have gleaned so far, If your gonna attempt to modify the engine you prolly should start from the ground up... As in replace the cast pistons with forged, new bearings, possibly rods(still checking on that one), before even thinking about swapping the top end parts of the engine, One person I know say s they are a tempermental engine. But a lot of what I found out still reflects back on when I built my early dodges 67 to 74 and up V8s. Dont mess with the top end unless u rebuild the bottom. And of course finally the modern electronics/ computer systems , when changes are made to the engine for performance sake they need to be modified/ rechipped or all your changes are for naught. Aftermarket is in a major catchup mode for these kind s of changes with the automakers trying there best to not allow them to be changed.
