I agree that GT500s aren't going to be very high profile cars. It is going to be very easy to take a stock GT and make it look like a GT500. What do you need? A front valence, stripes and badges. There will be complete kits sold to make stock GTs look like Shelbys. They will be common enough that you won't ever be able to tell by looking whether or not it is the real deal, and may outnumber real cars sooner or later.

To me, that's not a reason not to buy a car I love, but I have to agree with the original post. It's going to get tough to spot an origional GT500 through all the fakes.
