That's what Chrysler did everytime Ford or The General added 20 hp, Chrysler added 25 hp. By 1971 it was coming to an end. Don't be fooled by what you have been told about the oil embargo. My friend owns his own insurance company and he told me the insurance companies played a huge roll in wiping out horsepower. Too many claims, too many accidents, too much money getting paid out all means less money for the insurance companies pocketbooks. Maybe today it will be different; tire technology, abs, air bags and better handling ,have all led to safer cars. Maybe a few hundred extra horsepower won't make that much of a difference. MAYBE!
Never fails HP gets blamed for stupid drivers, we've had 30 some odd years to get used to HP, surely by now people will have adjusted. especially with these fast and furious kids and their rice burners/rice rockets. so it's high time we show'm how it's done! Mopar style!
