Tom Peters, lead designer of the Camaro concept, drives it for the first time. What's particularly interesing about this video is how he describes the importance of the
feeling of the car and the importance of
interaction with the car as part of your drive.
Folks, this is the definition of a "
drivers car".
Note that when GM introduced the car, they said it'd be light, have a range of V-6 and V-8s, and feature an independent rear suspension (IRS). Those are all important aspects, especially the IRS - so that the driver can feel and interact with the rear suspension, rather than have just have a solid axle hanging off the rear of the car.
It's also great to hear that GM won't dumb down the Camaro as it moves from concept to production, as Ford did with the Mustang:

Note, too, that the Challenger will have an IRS - in fact we know all about it's suspension because it's reused from the LX platform (300C, Magnum, Charger).
So, with the exception of Ford, Chevy and Dodge will be building
modern cars. The game is afoot, and the spring of 2009 will be a very interesting time competitively.
