You still have to take into account the redesigned hood that would go along with this. I'm guessing there's more to it than simply cutting a hole in the existing one. That makes it a limited production item, as well as adding some R&D costs (which would be going into the whole thing).

Add to that, a limited number of cars produced with this package in general, allowing them to bump the price even more (think Dodge Ram Rumblebee - largely cosmetic package with a hefty price bump. At least, last I checked.)
