This post is a little late as the event has already passed.
But I was there
Anyway, it was an event that I hope it makes it by Dallas again next year. It was held at the Lone Star Park Horse track parking lot. 2 road courses were set up. One for Jeeps and one for everything else. I did not post ahead of time about the event as I was not sure if you would even be able to get to drive a SRT.
Turns out there was several to choose from to try.
SRT 300c
SRT Magnum
SRT Ram
SRT Crossfire
oh and few other cars & trucks like Dakota, Aspen, Sebring, Nitro etc.
I have been to GM events in the past and they have warned people about driving crazy. This event however was mainly to train salespeople and they opened it up to the public and as long as you stayed in the cones, they were ok with how you drove. We were all pushing those SRT's to the limit. It was a blast and I got my first true taste of the take off power of the SRT. There is some initial lag but once the engine revs up, it just takes off. Too bad this is just the moment when you, have to slow down for the first curve.
On top of the driving experience, every 2 hours, they did a SRT demonstration with a Viper, Charger Super Bee and a Ram truck. It was awesome to see the Viper and Charger in a figure 8 crisscross drift just smoking the tires up. (How does one get that job??!)
On top of that we got a free lunch!
Looking at the website, it looks like this event is done for the year.

If you see it again, definitely go. It's fun to drive a road course already set up for you as fast as you can possibly do it. Even if you already own a SRT, you can try different models to see how they compare.
Of course nobody knows anything about the Challenger yet. One guy even said it is still just a concept. Once I quickly corrected him in that it is officially going to be built. He backed off and corrected himself and called it an "evolution" instead. Jeez, why can't these people get their stories straight...
