Re: New Car and Driver issue with Challenger preview

Come on, that global navigation thing in the new Chargers is a joke! Who needs that in a muscle car?! IMHO, that's yuppie garbage that belongs in a Mercedes or BMW. Let's hope they keep the Challenger clean, functional and affordable. Also, let's hope the whole package is "after market friendly." That's one thing you gotta give to Ford: they've done a great job of partnering with the aftermarket vendors, allowing Mustang owners to upgrade/customize their rides in a multitude of ways. The whole appeal of a muscle car is being able to "hot rod" it at some level.
I am old school too but I have to disagree. It is hard to beat the level of integration and cost savings that factory "technology" can give you compared to aftermarket. I want to see a retro look that is slightly updated but also loaded with modern day technology and drivetrain. The downside to having a real classic musclecar is the lack of technology and conveniences that modern cars have making them simply not as practical in every day use. Unless you are buying to turn it is to a Drag Strip Queen.... Then give me stability control, AWD, radar cruise, navigation, IRS, MP3, satellite, DVD, 7sp Auto, etc.... but give me Retro Looks on the outside and 500+ hp to back it up and I could never be happier. Nor could I do this myself to an original.

Options!! That is the key to making this car so that we can both be happy. They need to offer them from striped to fully loaded and a few spots in between. Just IMHO
