Yeah, yeah, yeah, blah, blah blah. And my 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan AWD had it's alternator, power steering pump and fuel pump all let go in less than 30,000 miles! All under warranty, but that didn't stop it from having to go to the garage and waste my time! Which one seems more serious to you? A little wind noise and a rattle or stranded in 10 below zero weather in a car that won't run because the fuel pump died? (which is exactly what happened to my wife and kids, by the way.) I ditched that sucker and traded it for a 2005 Toyota Sienna AWD. And although feature-wise the Caravan was MUCH MUCH better thought out and the seats were WAY better, the Sienna has had ZERO problems in 25,000 miles and counting.
Yet my 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan AWD ALSO had ZERO problems in 60,000 miles. So now what do I do? Do domestics suck or not? Our 1994 Honda Civic was traded in on that 99 Caravan. It had over 110,000 miles at the time of trade-in. Also with ZERO problems, just normal brakes, maintenance. So do imports suck or not?
But really, none of these examples means squat. Why? Because they are a couple samples from hundreds of THOUSANDS. Everyone knows someone who had a bad car of any make/model you can think of. I get annoyed when a person can't see past their own circle of friends and sees only one side of the equation, which appears to be true here. There's a big world out there. Take a look at JD Powers and Consumer Reports sometime. You may not agree with them, but they have one hell of a lot larger sample size than you have.
I'm tellin' ya, this thread is not going to do anyone any good, it needs to just go away. (yeah, yeah, and if I'd stop posting, maybe it would! :-)
I still like the Challenger, BTW. :-)
