I agree that the wait is hard, but the actual time- from concept car (2/06) to production car (2/08) is not that slow. DCX did not make the decision to go ahead until 7/06.
Also, remember that although DCX is using the existing LX chassis, it had to fabricate all of the exterior parts (the concept car was a one-of-a-kind that was built with carbon fiber), line up suppliers, go through emissions testing, crash testing, etc. Also, it had to decide on a plant to manufacture the car. As you know, Brampton (Ontario) was selected, but it will have "flex manufacturing" (i.e., several different car models, other than Challengers, wil be produced on the same factory line).
