A lot has been said as to whether the Challenger should be an exclusive high performance line with 5.7 R/Ts, 6.1 SRTs, and 6.4 HOs. One argument for a more varied line (i.e., V6 SXT) is to increase profits for DCX by selling more cars.
I agree with this line of thinking. Another new argument that I heard is to make the car affordable to young drivers so that they will develop brand loyalty to DCX and get them out of their ricemobiles with the Hi-C can exhaust tips.
