Re: C'mon, Dodge, throw us a bone

I found some interesting (although slightly old) bits on information on the following website:

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/2008-dodge-challenger.htm

"Dodge intends the 2008 Challenger as a low-volume high-performance vehicle, so no V-6 engine or smaller V-8 is planned. This could narrow Challenger's appeal. While Mustang's muscular V-8 models get all the attention, a good portion of Mustang sales are the V-6 versions. And Chevy will offer both a V-6 and a V-8 in its new Camaros.

Transmission choices for the 2008 Dodge Challenger are a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. With either, the 2008 Dodge Challenger should offer acceleration to rival anything Mustang or and Camaro can throw at it.

With the lowest curb weight of any vehicle equipped with the 6.1-liter Hemi V8, the Challenger should be able to do 0-60 mph in a scorching 4.5 seconds.

2008 Dodge Challenger Prices:Way too early for Dodge to say anything, but don't be surprised at a $35,000 starting price for the 2008 Challenger.

Savvy shoppers will wait months, maybe a year, until Challenger fever cools down to get the best deal on this born-again muscle car.
