http://www.barrett-jackson.com/event...r/howtobid.asp .. You are required to register as a bidder. ... The bidder’s registration fee provides you and a guest admission to all days of the auction, reserved ‘Bidder’s Only’ seating, reserved parking and hosted bar throughout the event. A complimentary invitation for two to the Opening Night Gala is also included....Sellers at Barrett-Jackson are asked to provide details about their car’s authenticity ...
anyone can attend. Last year it was 35 bucks at the door. You can buy your ticketson line prior to showing up, usually at a slight discount I think. There is a seperate area for pre approved bidders. The rest of th unwashed masses have access to always full bleachers or can just stand anyplace they can see.
The guys that run the show are smart: they know a lot of guys bring their wives so there's usually a pretty interesting vebndor area that has nothing to do with cars. Of curse there's lots of car stuff also.
I've found the best day to go is Friday because more folks are still at work. Saturday is the big one. You can check the auctrion schedule to see what day the #1 car will be auctioned. The cars are on the auction block for 2 minutes I think. Pretty cool to watch.
After the cars leave the stage they park out in the pavillion area. You can go walk around and see what's sold or what's waiting to be sold. The whole event is packed but it's well worth it.
There is also another place, not connected to the show, a few miles away called "The Pavillions" - there's an outdoor car show just about every weekend, usually around 300 or so cars are there of all types, plus bikes etc. 2 years ago I met a guy who had a really nice 71 Torino GT for sale on the parking let. It went for 40k. Really nice car.
I've seen Lambo's, Panteras, Super Birds, all local, at this place. Just depends on what someone decides to bring out on any given saturday.
It's a 4 hour drive for me so I don't go all that ofetn but it's always been good.
So, there you go.
