I don't see it. I think some dealers in urban areas (mainly NorCal, TX and SoCal) will be able to get away with markups but by and large those markups will be gone by 2009. Perhaps even some 2008 purchasers will get a decent deal. This is a great car, but nowadays, the market for a $50,000 two-door car that gets 13MPG isn't quite so large as one might think, especially when you consider the (possible) impending recession and other factors, unfortunately. A lot of people may simply hold out for 2009.
