Just my .02 here....
I recently decided to put down a deposit on a 2009 Challenger (don't want a '08). I called my current local dealer (been taking my 300C to them for a couple years now) and they signed me right up - with a contract - for a 2009 model for my $1000 deposit to get on their waiting list for when ordering begins. I am on their list (#4) and am confident (fingers crossed) that I will be treated fairly by them. They consistently stated that they felt "building relationships" was more important than making a few extra $$ on the car. I believe them. If this goes through as promised and because of this attitude and mentality towards potential customers --
they have a customer for life.
After I did this, on a lark, I contacted another local Dodge dealer. I was told they were only going to get probably two or three 2009 models - TOTAL. They were not taking deposits and planned on parking them on the lot and in their showroom and attempt to "auction" them off to the highest bidder - esentially the dopes stupid enough to pay the most markup. Because of this attitude and mentality towards potential customers -
I will NEVER visit them again, nor will I EVER do business with them in the future.
This is simply how I roll - and I don't allow second chances. Sorry.
