anytime there is a shortage of an in-demand product, the price will go up.

it is like the video game systems. retailers couldn't price over sticker, so they bundled them up, or always sold out. then people would resell them for a profit.

why should the dealer, who takes the overhead risk, not be allowed to profit? if people are willing to pay $10k - $25k over sticker, then why not let them charge the MARKET VALUE. to the person in sweden and others citing other premium cars - those cars have a much higher markup. what dodge should have done is invoiced these the same but put the MSRP at $49,995. This would have given the dealers a pre built in markup and some good negotiating room.

i find it funny, like some others have stated, that no one has a problem negotiating a deal UNDER MSRP. someone said its due to the "actual value" of the car.

sounds to me like Chrysler undervalued the car and the dealers are just going with the market.

as much as you want, you can't have it both ways. you can't say that msrp isn't the real value on one car, then say msrp is the real value on the challenger.

the true value of anything is what someone else is willing to pay for it.
Come on SRT PUSHER, do you think I and alot of others don't know about the " Dealers Hold Back" the dealers built in profit? Also I suggest you take a few minutes maybe to read my last post here which shows what I've found out about the sales BS of " the law of supply and demand". On this particular auto its a real joke. We are not that dumb out here especially when we start doing our homework on what the dealers are trying to do or get away with!!!!!!!! OK so all the rich car collectors can have them and I'll just wait till the 2009,s or like some others on here have said , maybe a " Bullit Mustang" or a " LS6 Camaro" in 2009" . Hate to stop being a loyal mopar man , Good luck to all, LOCOMOTION
