Re: G5 Challengers

Cool - I get to answer some styling questions. Thanks for all the compliments.

The wheels are really a combination of things. I started out by looking at the original Magnum wheels that came on a lot of the late 60s and early 70s Mopars and thought I'd start there. I knew I wanted a spoke that flared outward a little from the wheel center out. I also wanted the lug pattern sunk in with a nice center cap. The reason for the "dish" shape around the lug pattern cam from looking at the rally wheels. The gray webbing between the spokes is somewhat of a stylized magnum with the slotted openings only a little larger to allow for good brake cooling. I wanted the wheel to be modern but have some vintage muscle flavor or feeling to it like the Challenger has. To finish it off, I also wanted to add in machined fasteners around the outside of the spokes to give it an aggressive race car touch. The wheel needs to fit the car and I designed it just for Challenger. Although I think it would also look at home on a modern LX platform Charger! Imagine a black Charger or even a silver one with black wheel spoke recesses?!
As far as pushing the spokes in more (like an IROC wheel) could be done but I have to keep wheel offset in mind too and I wanted to make sure that the car had some wheel lip to it. I am working on a second type of wheel that could be optional as well.

The rear diffuser seemed almost natural for the G5/R being a race-inspired street car but on the Posey Concept - it just had to be there no ifs, ands, or buts! It would also be functional allowing are being caught behind the bumper lip to exit out and the bottom diffuser would help direct air off the back of the car some.
If some of you guys are wondering about the giant front sheetmetal spoiler - it's gonna be just like that LOL! It will actually have quick release system so that it is detachable and underneath it is a molded in fascia chin that looks like the lower chin of the G5/S with beefier supports of somekind underneath.
I'd just love to see this car flying into the corner with rotors glowin' and a flame belching outta the side exiting exhaust!!!
