hog rings are a one-time use fastener used to attach the leather to the seat frame. Not many are used any more, but you would require a few at least.
Seating Applications
They are basically a round wire ring that is not yet closed, that is what the pliers do. You basically stretch the material to where you want it and use the hog ring to fasten it to the seat frame.
