Thats basically why i wanted it, to protect from the elements. Really the only element i get is heat, so im good on snow and sleet lol. Thats actually probably true, i never thought about washing it each and every time. I wonder if it is actually doing harm if you dont wash it.

Please, someone with experience using one fill us in.
