Absolutely. I'm sure that's what he was doing. Like I said, my radar detector didn't go off so I don't think he had a clue how fast we were all going. He kept saying I was going 72, and I kept saying "there's no way I was going 72". At no point in time did I say how fast I was going, I just denied going 72. 
That's why my husband got mad at me. He said I was being argumentative and would get a ticket - where as if I just apologized for speeding he would just give me a warning. I said I refuse to apologize when he's accusing me of going 10 faster than I was!
