My 01 Ram had this "adaptive system." Three times within 100k miles I had to take it in and have them reprog the trans controller because it would get stupid and shift up and back during the 1-2 shift. The last time I took it in personnel had changed so I had to beg them to reprog it, they thought I was crazy, reprogramming fixed it again.
Thank the big guy upstairs for the 6 speed manual! It will be a long time before I buy an "auto" car again.
Does anyone remember how durable the 3 speed 727 trans was?
