Venthos was exactly right. You can't blame Nardelli. Leases for domestic cars are going to dry up, at least for a while. I called a guy I know that owns a local leasing company. He no longer leases to the public, only large fleets to large companies. He was getting hosed on personal leases.

I was very much prepared not to like Nardelli, based on what I read about Home Depot. But I've read quite a bit about him since he took over Chrysler, and I have to say I've changed my opinion of him. Maybe he's in his element more at Chrysler, has a better board backing him, whatever. But I think he's doing the best he can under very difficult circumstances. I say give the man a couple of years then we can judge him.
