Saying leasing is a waste obviously tells me you are not aware of the benefits. How about a business owner that can write it off?? How many Contractors will now buy Ford or Chevy trucks? Most already do, but this will turn the Dodge guys over. How about the person, myself included, that buys new cars every 1-2 years. Leasing is much cheaper and you always have a new car. You never take the hit of the trade in, you just have a constant car payment. I do not lease, but for my Daily Driver I also do not buy American and probably never will due to the resale value.
So wrong on so many levels. Ford and Chevy are losing their collective as_es on every truck and SUV lease they make. They will be following Chrysler's lead very soon (GM has already cut off leasing in Canada) Toyota and Nissan are also losing their as_es at the very least on leases of Tundras, Land Cruisers, Siennas and LX470s, and Titans, Armadas and QX56s respectively. By the way, guess who will be building trucks for Nissan?
Today, leasing is undoubtedly a "waste"/loser for auto manufacturers. Leasing may be cheaper for you, but who cares. Auto manufacturers would be insane to take huge losses year after year just to make it more convenient for you, or anyone else for that matter, to get a new car every "1-2 years."
You are obviously not very bright about the whole economic situation and what is driving the decisions.
