Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection
I voted that I would accept an auto tranny ;-(.......This is of course a major disappointment and I would immediately look to the aftermarket in order to convert the car into a standard. One only has to look into the collector car market, and the roots of this incredible car's history to know buyers prefer standard cars and their wallets have shown this clearly at auctions. Clearly there are a great deal of consumers that will buy lesser cars, smaller motors etc, but there are buyers who will attempt to re-live thier youth and dig whole lot deeper for the real deal...
The Dodge marketing department is investing a whole lot of money, man- power and time into targeting this car.......Guys just look for history to repeat it's self, build a performance style Hemi powered standard car and you'll own the market sector without a doubt.
Heck, if you want hit it out of the park build a limited series of convertible cars and charge a major premium for these cars. We all know that a limited production vehicle is expensive to produce, but there are buyers that will pay a substantial premium for a factory produce Hemi convertible, limited series car (Hell, put my name on the top of the list, I'd surely be grateful for the opportunity to pay for that premium)
