That's the problem with the bean counters. Most people don't want a manual transmission, most people want four doors, etc. When you keep slicing away options, you slice away buyers. Dodge used to build cars with almost any combination of options that were possible. I've seen a factory four on the floor with a Hurst shifter in a station wagon. I remember my Dad going to the dealer when I was a kid and ordering cars with any combination of options he wanted. I haven't bought a new car since 1995 because there haven't been any new cars that I WANTED (other than a Viper which I couldn't afford). Case in point our most recent purchase was a 2004 Intrepid SXT to haul the family. I could have bought a new Charger and had planned on buying one, but I don't buy new four door automatics, I buy them used. I never have seen a four door automatic yet that could get me to take the new car depreciation hit. I need a car, but I don't need a NEW car. I only buy a NEW car when I want one. If they build the Challenger with a manual tranny I will definitely want one! Are you listening Dodge?
