Relax, Raffi is being sarcastic. If DCX were to charge that much for a 6-speed they may as well not bother. I think most automakers prefer to sell autos because they are more reliable than they used to be, and are not as punishing to the rest of the drive train (shock loading by dumping the clutch) which allows them to cover a longer warranty. Everybody can drive an auto. But I think the biggest reason is that they and the insurance industry feel we can't handle a manual trans in a large displacement/RWD vehicle.
