Short answer;
there is no necessary correlation between rear wheel drive and full-frame construction,
and every car you named is a rear wheel drive unibody chassis.

I'm sorry I wasn't in too good of a mood. I don't quite understand what you mean by they were a unibody?? They had full frames as far as i know. Didn't think they started the whole unibody thing in V8's until the early 80's...
