I agree with you. Having seen both in person, I prefer the R/T seats as well. What somebody with an SRT could do is swap the seats for an R/T's seats if they preferred that classic look. I'm sure there would be many R/T owners willing to do that. The SRT guy could probably even get a few bucks out of the deal too.
