Re: Latest 'Challenger' News

Both parties do agree that ending our dependency on foreign oil is a priority. It will be both parties that bring new mpg requirements. I believe history will repeat itself. The base Corvette with manual trans gets 28 mpg on the highway. SRT 8 gets 20 with $2000 gas guzzler tax. If the manufacturers get into a horsepower war they will bring unfriendly attention to themselves. I had a 94 Z28 with 275 hp, it was a lot of fun. Remember also these hp figures are net not gross figures. 425 hp gross is what about 350 - 375 net.
What is all this love for the 392? We should be happy if they offer the 6.1.
It would be incredibly dumb of DC to offer only one engine. I want to see Challengers everywhere! I will not buy one if I have to pay a $2000 gas guzzler tax!
