If the manufacturers get into a horsepower war they will bring unfriendly attention to themselves. I had a 94 Z28 with 275 hp, it was a lot of fun.

Remember also these hp figures are net not gross figures. 425 hp gross is what about 350 - 375 net.
What is all this love for the 392? We should be happy if they offer the 6.1.
It would be incredibly dumb of DC to offer only one engine. I want to see Challengers everywhere!

I will not buy one if I have to pay a $2000 gas guzzler tax!

If,...and I do mean "if" the news from allpar is correct(which I highly doubt with one engine choice). I for one,..am greatly happy that they're even making the challenger (as that point has been stated many times). My concern is the possibility of only one engine choice the 6.1 with a manual,...which to me,..might be the single most ridiculous marketing move I have ever heard of for car sales(that's why I know this allpar info from source, has to be bogus)!....If they were, and are going to compete in the pony car market, you need to look at your competitor, who for one is mustang,...which have 6cyls,...all the way up through the 500hp Shelby GT500,....and in that line-up are manual as well as auto transmissions, engine and hp choices depending on which model,etc.....Dcx needs to follow suit with an array of choices from affordable auto and manual 6cyl,small 8cyl,5.7and/or6.1,...and...the 6.4l(I would dump the 6.1 in favor of the 6.4L version in the srt-8) to compete with their competitors (gt500)...and if they want to bring out the 6.4l as an srt-8 version, 6 months later,..that's great(but you better not wait to long,as you snooze you lose jack).... all I'm saying is, you better get while the gettin' is good with these cars, as you'll lose more than just sales.

...oh ya P.S.- "If" dcx were to make only one model to compete with the ShelbyGt500,...that's even more reason to make it the 6.4 with 500hp....for anything else less... will lose for sure.

....Oh and the difference in groups are: the current group is doing it because of the result from the conflict in Iraq which has driven up cost(cut down dependency),....the "other group"

will do it anytime, anyplace anywhere for anything(they as soon as have you drive around in mopeds, not mopars

)Their restrictions and penalties are alot worse on auto manufactures)....They have already taken away our gun rights,...you just wait to see what they do with our gas-fueled retro muscle cars,...Lord help us all,...if they get control again.

...sorry back on topic.
