Sry. Chevy already said the car will be tuned not to compete with the Corvette.
I think on the surface they might be upset, but once they remember that the Camaro will be carrying 700+ pounds of extra baggage, that "equivalent horsepower" figure is irrelevant. It's like the owner of a '70 454 Vette complaining that the new '70 Impala makes the same amount of horsepower. So what, it's a boat.

If all they cared about was loading them up with options, they probably wouldn't be buying a Vette...................

That said, I agree with you that Chevy is claiming they will detune it so as not to compete with the Vette, but in reality the Vette isn't the competition they should be worried about.
