Just watched the special features section of Vanishing Point on blu-ray. It says only 356 1970 Hemi Challengers were made? Anybody here got one?

...I owned the 1st 1970 HEMI Challenger ever made...it was 1 of 60 HEMI RT/SE Challengers built....sold it about 10 years ago

...the very first one, it was also the oldest known Challenger to exist at the time

Did you buy it new, and do you wish you still had it? Most people would probably give a kidney for that car.

Wow! You must have gotten a pretty penny for that one! Those things would sell (restored of course) on Mecum Auto Auctions for well over $100,000.

FYI- last Hemi built was on Mecums Jan., auction. It was/is blue plain looking 1971 Barracuda, though they rolled off while bidding cotinued, so don't know if it sold. They had sold the same car about 2 years earlier, I had seen on a re-run. Mopar ALLWAYS get 6 figures, even in this economy!

I just have half a 70 Hemi Cuda.... The engine and tranny half though. My 71 Challenger might have a Hemi soon. Or I might try and buy the body back.

....bought the HEMI in 1988....the car was better than perfect....owned it for about 10 years and sold several cars at the same time to one individual, including the first 69 Daytona shipped in the USA, and a triple black 70 T/A Challenger 4spd ... gave my kids each a 70 T/A Challenger...my son got a Plum Crazy one and my daughter got a Panther Pink one....they both sold the cars and years later I purchased the Plum Crazy back....still own it

I wonder how many are still around. Jay Leno owns a nice 4-speed example.

...not at all....I think they both regretted selling the cars later on...the cars were for them to do with as they wished
