One guy from Holland, one from Sweden (oohlala) and the rest of us Americans (with the exception of Brian's wife who is German).

There was a HUGE tour bus on the ring also. I got a glimpse of it in a video. I loved seeing the VW bus on the track. That was cool!

And hey... our Challengers truly were the hit of the track over the weekend. People were more interested in our Challengers than the Lambos, Ferraris & Aston Martins! :P

Wow…I am not sure if I can even describe how fun this weekend was! I can say Roxie threw her big heavy butt around that Ring more times than I had planned for…it is a drug once you get going. :weed:
It was really nice to hook up with a bunch of Euro-Challengers Drivers at such a cool place. Thomas drove a loooong way and it was nice to see so many other Challengers in one spot…we really did steal the weekend! Boyd’s HO with CF stripping got lots of looks! Lenard’s Black R/T is just sinister looking. This was the first time I have seen the Reds…and both the Tor-red and Inferno red are hot. A big shout out to Lee for letting me follow him on my first lap and Brian did a great job setting up dinner.

I am happy to say that no Challengers got damaged or had mechanical issues, and every made at least one lap. There was a Challenger Parade with 6 of us all making a lap together. :grouphug: I have it on the video cam and as soon as I have a chance I will post it up on youtube.

We ended up putting 15 laps on Roxie, that is no small feat and I can tell you the gas mileage stinks!:sick: After this weekend I am even more impressed with the Challenger. The Challenger is a big, heavy car and not a real match for the Porches and M5 BMW Ring-Taxies…there are 73 corners and 2 tons is a lot to throw around. Roxie doesn’t want to “sweep” through those curves like that damn Aston-Martin Vantage Ring -Taxi and lacks a little in the acceleration department when trying to keep up, trust me…I tried to keep up but that A-M V8 Vantage is VERY fast (and I am sure that Taxi driver is just a tad better than me too). But having said how hard it was to drive “against” those Euro-Racers; it is a total, fun-meter pegged at 100% blast. A lap is 12 miles, Roxie clocked 180 miles of Ring this weekend and some of those were laps were pushing the Dodge for all she was worth! After a few “learning” laps I was having the time of my life. I know times are kinda taboo and my time keeper was very un-official (my kid, MaD-mAd with her stop watch) but from the Antonius bridge to the Dottinger-Hohe bridge my best was 9:43. The last lap I did was 9:52 and I had to come to a complete stop to drive around an accident that littered the road. I am sure that last one was in the 9:30 range! Not too bad for ASSA’s grocery getter! For anyone more familiar with the Ring, Bruennchen gave me fits; it is 2 hard right hand curves, a slight uphill incline and a left hand turn. I was really proud of Abby too; she knocked out 4 of our 15 laps and really poured in on. On my first ride with Abby, she ripped through Bruennchen like a freaking F1 driver. :bowdown:

Again it was great to meet everyone and we held fast to our meeting rules…no accidents and have fun! ChallengeRing 09 is official in the history books.:icon_cheers: Now to start coordinating ChallengeRing 2010!!!

It's really cool to see something different!

It was a blast! I was hesitant at first about getting on the track. Wasn't worried about my driving, was concerned about others driving. Especially after watching cars being hauled off the track, some of which were totaled. But it was fun even though it was crowded at times until after we passed the Porsche on the track who ripped his rear-end out.

Definitely looking forward to doing this again and getting my ride on the track more when it's a little older and has more miles on it.

Corona --- I see you're from Weisbaden. I was born there and still have two aunts in Germany. One is in Mainz and one on Hof. I was born in an ambulance going across the bridge from Mainz to Weisbaden. My dad was Army back then. :)

Um Steve, why was your video shorter than Abby's yet she is definitely driving faster? Sorry to say this Abby but Steve has a much steadier hand with the camera! Just messing with you guys.

But I will say after watching the video's lets go back this weekend! Seriously! After talking to Lee, we need to set next years event up on a 4 day weekend so we can all hit the track on a week day. April or May it's on! I want one lap to warm the car and myself up to the track. Then it's on, we'll see what a 6-spd R/T can do against an auto SRT. These videos are addictive after running the track! Sweet driving Abby!

On a side note, I'm going to have to scratch this week, having problems with the new day-care.

Brian! Of course I was driving faster! :p Did you see that he added extra stuff to mine. J/K Steve was definitely faster than me.

Steve put the camera on the dash for all the world to see. I was a bit chicken and held it closer to my body, plus Steve drives like a wild ass!

How long did what take? The laps? Steve's best lap was 9 1/2 minutes.

Steve, our entire crew of Mopars were great ambassadors!

One of the wives, Heike, & and wanted to make a lap in Rox (actually my last one), but when we got to the entrance we found out the ring was closed due to an accident so we went to the parking lot to hang out. She and I got out of the car and a flock of guys (about 8) came to the car. It felt great being able to answer their questions and they even lined up to take photos with Roxie.

FI-- you took my damn medal! I'm gonna kick that "ask" again! :p I had it for just one day!

Anyhow, our tires arrived today! I know Steve will be happy!

To bad you didn't have those tires at the Ring. Now come on and "Git Sum!". One day was one too many. :ugh2: Don't you just love a tease. :oogle:
