WOW... are we sharing the same brain waves???? I too, had the same situation ( couple things had to be looked at ) and they offered to wash it for me.. Ahhhh...NOOOOOO ! :notallthere: I'll wash it myself....Thankyou... I'm sure they're great workers and do a great job...but I'm the only one doing the washing and wax protection..especially with the detailed striping that I have on the car.... ok...check the blood pressure...good, now I can relax again..:scratchhead:

Yeah I hear Ya. These cars are most difficult to wash on the roof and one has to do a bit of leaning- I don't want ANYONE else to do the washing---and NO MACHINE WASH either!

AHH just a little pressure washer to blow the stripes smooth off of your car. Or they will have the plastic brushes spinning like crazy with the mud from the last four wheeler the dealers kid ran through it. Maybe a little acrosol on the towels that they used to clean gum from the minivan seat that came in earlier today.

What? You don't trust the porters? Then they have to go down the street to do an AIR DRY! 90 MPH should get it dry by the time you get back to pick it up.

My understanding on the RRT is that it is a cold weather issue with the steering wheel not coming back to center ...the dealer installs an aux cooler in front of the cooler already there, also a couple hoses and a bracket. I drove the car alot this winter and even at minus 35 degrees didnt notice anything but at least i will be up to date on any recalls or what not I also am pretty sure it is only on some 09 models but the dealer will bump vin and see if it is needed.

I just had the 15000 mile service on my 1 ton which includes a fuel filter change. Help me understand how they get fuel all over the drivers side of the block, the suspension and the inner fender? What a mess! Their solution was to have the detail guy spray this orange cleaner from some dirty squirt bottle all over the diesel fuel to try and clean it up with a dirty towel. This was a $400 service and I was truly shocked and disgusted at how this 5 star dealer treated my truck. I even had a big oily handprint on the leather seat. (Its light tan leather.) I guess Ill have to take tomorrow off to clean it up:browsmiley:

I dread taking in my srt for its first oil change and watching the mechanic dimple the front fenders with his elbows.:( Thats the horror story I keep hearing. Bad enough they want to detail the car with shop towels and mystery spray from random squirt bottles. At least your car is red and not black!

Hmm. I probably didnt make you feel any better did I?

I'm in line for this RRT as well.
Fishman, let us know how the RRT turns out.
And I agree, keep the dealership washmits away from your ride

I politely declined the RRT. Unless my SRT8 starts showing symtoms....I'm not doing it.

Yeah...when I got my PCP last week(shipped from back East)....there were a couple scratches on the roof, one on the top of the front bumper, and one just in front of the left headlight in the black plastic.....yep, detail it yourself....:pimp:

When i left of course they reminded me to fill out the customer satisfaction survey and send it in......OH you know I will.So now I know what I am doing tomorrow....But I am still very impressed with those DRL'S they are frikkin HOT

I don`t post much in most forums anymore because I just flat get irritated at the constant dealer bashing...Believe it or not, there ARE a few of us that DO give a schit and take care with the stuff we work on, especially with "speciality" cars.
Then I see posts like this and it makes me want to find that dealer and choke that tech as it just gives the rest of us a bad name.
Trust me when I say this, I have been in this same dealer for 26 years, I`ve seen it, had to deal with it and fixed stuff that should NEVER have been let out of a shop and for the most part you can thank Flat rate for it.

Just to make ya all feel worse than you do...here is what your car looks like at about the half way point into the steering cooler refit RRT

It is true that there are some great dealers out there. The dealer I went to lost his franchise and I have been trying to find a good substitute.

With as far down as that Challenger is you might as well install the intercooler for a supercharger!

It is funny you say that,
I had told the owner of that particular car who is also a member of this forum, that he did NOT want to see me do that, as it isn`t pretty.
No matter who you are, nobody, even ME, wants to see their "baby" in a gazillion pieces.....We have a fairly casual environment at this dealer and it is not unusual for customers to mingle around in the shop....just shortly after I took that picture he walks in, nose piece Behind the car on blankets and plastic parts everywhere... LOL after seeing the mess he said the same thing "this is a good time for a intercooler"

I`ll end with this...Some here know what is involved in this, alot don`t
I defy anyone to look at that car in person and show me any sign that it has ever been apart...As I said before, There are some of us that take care of our customers.
I would be lying if I said we`ve never had a problem, but it is how one deals with problems that makes a difference..When you are in a fairly small town, pissing people off makes the rounds quickly

How long does this RRT (power steering) actually take?
Thanks for the pic....But Man, that car looks sad...
Glad to read some folks still take some pride in their work...Can you do mine...LOL...

Not enough :(

The warranty time for the RRT/TSB is 1.3 hours on a LC (Challenger)
It can not be done in that.....well maybe it can, but you`ll be rippin and tearin or maybe just better than me, however this boy won`t play that game.
Between taping off the fenders, covering everything, bleeding the system, making sure everything is exactly as it was on reassembly and just general clean up blah blah blah, it is probably close to 3 hours.....It is a tough call on it exactly as another part of my job is to babysit 3 other kids that work there, sometimes it is tough to start something and not have to go deal with them.
i`ve done a handfull of LX`s also (Charger cop cars) that were beat and dirty so the amount of "care" required was less and these only pay 1.1
I was under 2 hours on them but not by much
I`m not flat rate and haven`t been for quite a while so it is less of a concern for me.

Thanks for the reply Amigo..
I will consider possibly having it done...
It just worries me to have to "crack" into a perfect vehicle...
Most folks are not as careful as you are...Just wish they were..
