Hi

Do all SRT's come without a spare tire? If so what do you do about a flat?

Thanks
Jack

From what I understand because of the weight and the way the rear end fits under it SRTs don't have spare tires or jacks, You get a can of fix a flat that your not suppose to use because it's not good for the tires. You have road warranty for the first year

Theres a can of tire goop hooked to the air compressor in the trunk.....as long as it's not a catastrophic blowout or a slice it will get you where you need to go.

The SRT does not have a temporary steel wheel spare because of its inability to fit over the large Brembo brake calipers. Some members have purchased a new 20" forged OEM wheel or used a temporary spare wheel from a Chrysler 300 with wheel spacers.

The R/T 18 inch spare will fit on the rear (I think). The 18 inch spare will not clear the front brakes. If I am incorrect please post the real deal.

Anybody know what size spacers are required to clear the brakes? I have a new R/T Challenger spare, jack and hold down kit. I was hoping to be able to use it with my SRT8.

The latest issue of Mopar Collectors Guide highlights an aftermarket spare tire/jack package engineered for the SRTs.

I would recommend against using the goop that comes with the car, been there, done that, and got pissed! I had a small, very small leak and the goop only sealed it enough to drive 30 miles. The problem you say? I had to drive 367 miles... On the fouth of July... though the desert.

Doesn't the goop screw up the TPMS sensors???

"Some members have purchased a new 20" forged OEM wheel "

Are both front and rear wheels the same? Same offset? Does it fit in the spare tire well?

Thanks

The front and rear 20" SRT forged wheels are identical. I don't think that they will fit in the wheel wheel. I know that it will accomodate an 18" wheel, however.

I think they don't have aspare because the tires are staggered?

Actually, the front and rear rims on the Challenger SRT, Charger SRT, Magnum SRT and 300 SRT are 20 X 9. The only thing that may be staggered are the wheels (if they're F1s). 245 X 45 20's front, 255 X 45 20's rear.

If you have the A/S Tires, they are the same size all the way around.

The Jeep is the only SRT that comes with Staggered Wheels & Tires.

I was worried about not having a spare until the service manager said my F1's are run flat tires. He said there is a tire inside of the tire and not to worry because it's nearly impossible for the tire to come off the wheel. Also I tested this.....damaged my front wheel BAD when I hit a curb. The tire was fine.

I rotated mine 1000 miles ago when I hit 10000. Just do the usual front two diagonal to the back and the back two straight the front.

() ()

() ()

Take the front two and just bring em to the back on opposite sides so the front left would be rotated to the rear right and the front right to the rear left. Then the rear tires just come forward. That's for the first rotation anyways... On a the topic of a spare tire, I was surprised at not even having a jack at least. Went out and bought a good one, next thing I need to go out and do is get some super thick jumper cables in case someone needs some help.

With the summer package you get 245's in front and 255's in back. I guess you could rotate them diagonally but that would be a bit odd. Conversely, I didnt know Goodyear F1's were run flats.

They aren't run flats

TexasBrandon

my post was meant for the standard tires not the staggered. I opted out of the summer tires due to that exact reason, I don't mind spending money but burning tires every year that cost 350 to 400 dollars a piece is not something I wanted to do.

If that molded foam piece is removed, will a full-size SRT wheel/tire fit in there?

I just checked and from what I can see I doubt it, the clearance I'd say is maybe 16 in, and taking out a wheel from there would be ridiculously hard/impossible

I found a guy on eBay that sells the whole kit but it was more expensive.
I just wanted the piece of mind that I wouldn't have to have the car towed if a tire got ruined.

I never worried about having a spare tire till the wife and i went to North Dakota and ended up getting a flat in Minot. I though ok, no biggy, i get the can of goop out, fire it in and all of it leaks out the hole. So i figure still no biggy, i will call some tire shops in town and get another tire.. WEELLLLLL, nobody had a tire anywhere, so i get the car towed to the local dodge dealer, and they tell me they can get a tire, but it will be 6 days or so, well this is a sat, and i have to be back in Saskatchewan by monday. So that won't work. So i see a SRT sitting in the show room, the only one they have a beg the dealer to sell me rim and tire, he thinks about it and says ok. Well $1780 bucks later, and 6 hours later, me and the wife are back on the road. We were so pissed off about the hole situation it pretty well wrecked our whole weekend.
The rim was about 1000, and the tire was 500 and then the presure sensor. I did feel a little better when i got back in Canada and found out the rims here are 1400, so i saved 400 getting it in the states..LOL
So now i have an extra rim that i need to just get some new rubber on..

What is the function of the adapter? Just to move the 18" wheel out for clearance? I'm going to have to get out the tape measure and figure out once and for all if a full-size SRT wheel/tire will fit. If this spare kit'll fit, the regular tire should also fit.

RMG

The 20in wheel & tire are 28.5in tall, the spare tire is 27in tall. The spare barely fits in the spare tire well. The adapter brings the wheel out far enough to clear the Brembo calipers.
