Just curious, what is supposed to be the difference between the new Blackberry Pearl (PBV) and the Brillaint Black colors?

Is the Blackberry Pearl suppose to be a bit darkish purple-ish (like darker PCP) or it is simply the new black?

I wouldn't say it's it a darker PCP, looks black for the most part. But when your
close and in the right light you can see a very dark purple mixed in.

They're not getting rid of brilliant black but blackberry pearl is pretty close. When light's hitting it just right you can see the purplish/blue but otherwise it looks black.

Blackberry is not PCP. It is a very dark blue with a similar metallic to the Brilliant Black. It is a nice color, if you like blue, but I am not sure about it on a Challenger. Might look good on an RT with chrome wheels and no striping. I personally think the Deep Water Blue is a better color on the car.

I'd call it a really, really dark navy blue. I kind of like it.

Here is comparison between BB Pearl and Black from Dodge's web site (first two caravans), then BB Pearl real life pic and then I photoshopped a chally. What do you think...

Great job on the Photoshop work! If it is purple....im out. No purple cars for me.
If it is a deep blue It may look good in person.

I'll bet under "Neon" lites in a parking lot you wont like it. Thats when the purply effect will really jump out at you. If you think youd like it because it almost looks black, you're probably better off with black.

They keep beating all around the bush... but maybe, just maybe, someday they will actually offer just plain old BLACK http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/luck.gif

X2- Black should be black and not have green and silver metalflake in it.

It's purple. And dodge's rendering of it on the caravan is way off (just look at their renderings of the challenger on their site).

They will never offer straight black the panels are not nearly straight enough for that which is the reason we have flake in the clear and orange peel in areas it hides the imperfections in the sheet metal. The dpeth of the clear is also used to hide issues with the sheet metal this info came from a well respected restorer friend when i asked about painting mine straight black.

If it is really black with purple nuances I would buy an RT in it. If it is just dark blue navy, I wouldn't. There are plenty if these around, pearl black would look better on a chally anyway.

If the paint has some purple in it would make it very unique color to match the Challenger vision... I hope it does.

the brilliant black is....BLACK.

Blackberry pearl is....BLUE, by NO MEANS is it PURPLE!

My Jeep is Brilliant black and there is a backberry one on base it is actually pretty hard to tell the colors apart unless the light is right

I concur with cubsfan74. I stood beside a Blackberry Pearl 2011 Charger today in sunlight and compared it to a 2010 Brilliant Black Challenger - Generally speaking, they both look black at a distance. Side by side you can tell they are not the same shade - but when you walk up close, and in the correct lighting, or correct angle - the Blackberry is a very dark metallic blue - the Brilliant Black is a very metallic... black.

Hope this helps.

I just bought a bb pearl and 98% of the people think is black. It is just a purpleish / dark bleuish with green, blue, and silver metal flakes.

100% of the people love the color!

I saw a BB Pearl Challenger. It looked good. If you like Black but want a bit of a blue twist in the light ..... this is the way to go.

On the R/T Classic you can get red stripes with the black but not with the Blackberry Pearl.

here are some pics of mine. In this thread. You can see some of the flakes in the HEMI pic. I will get some in the light so the flakes and pearl come out.

It's like the old 350Z Brickyard color, maybe even deeper/more subtle. I loved that color! I also had the Brilliant Black Pearl as it had about three different metal-flake colors in it and was stunning in full sun. I'd lean toward the Blackberry just to be different.

Beautiful pics and car, 1sickR/T. I have the brilliant black classic and love it, but seeing yours, it's also a colour I'd go for.

I like this color a lot. It may not be high impact but I am not a high impact color type of guy either.
Nice pics!
