: Exhaust Tips
toupare17 06-10-2011, 08:53 PM Didnt know if this would go here or in Exterior, but I guessed here so hopefully you guys can help me. I got some Magnaflow mufflers about a week ago and I want to change out the OEM tips on my 2011. Cant seem to find a good website with aftermarket tips. I really like the quad look though (the place where I got my exhaust done didnt have any good ones). Pictures/ links would be a huge help.
I posted this a couple of days ago and got nothing so Im hoping someone can help me out here. Thanks guys. I really want to get those stock ones off!
I like the look of the quads the best then the single rectangle.
itzrick 06-10-2011, 09:03 PM I dont know if the SOLO tips fit on other exhaust but they have quad tips. I like my stock tips better so I kept them but I know some of the guys went with the quad tips at CF2. These aren't the ones they put on there but here are some.

Mopar Quad Exhaust Tips Challenger (Set of 2) (http://www.speedlogixstore.com/product_p/82212379.htm)
toupare17 06-11-2011, 07:27 AM Thanks for the links guys!
Mark052 06-11-2011, 08:05 AM +1 for the Mopar quad tips that speedlogix had posted:bigthumb: I have them on my car and really love the look of these tips. If you still have the stock rear pipes or a similar OEM exhaust tip connection, these will bolt on in just a couple of minutes.:)
Q8Chally 06-12-2011, 01:00 AM best "proper" quad tips are the Borlas but they don't sell them separately unfortunately. The Mopar ones look awful IMO the rolled SOLO's look better and probably cheaper as well.

Personal taste...IMO the best tip by far is the mbrp tip..the mopars I think look good and are an easy fit for someone wanting the dual look on an oem exhaust. Borla tips are nice, assuming you are talking about the newer version tips, the older ones looked way too euro to me.
daparrothead 06-12-2011, 08:24 AM I'm looking for a set of the MBRP 3 inch retro tips, anyone have a part number or link for them?
kirbs 06-12-2011, 03:39 PM I bought my quad black stainless tips from assured performance.com. Thay have alot of differant tips to choose from on that site. Good luck with your search, kirbs

The new borla quads are rolled and the 2 holes are deep bc they're cut properly and extend farther back, which makes them BEEFY to match our big cars, that's what I like about them. The MBRP ones are super thin like foil and lead to a single small ugly hole which makes them like a fake cut out (why have dual tips if they lead to a single hole?), also they are not shiny enough.
They might have worked on the old slimmer challenger but the new cars need something big, shiny, thick and deep. I know the tips are often overlooked but to me, It's the details that count :)
toupare17 06-12-2011, 08:45 PM Thanks for the site kirbs. They are cheap! Quality product though? Do you know if they are double or just single walled? I dont want them to change color over time.
kirbs 06-13-2011, 03:19 AM They are a single wall tip. The ones that i bought are black powder coated. So far no discoloration. I installed them early this spring and have about a 1,000 miles on them. Still look as good as when i put them on. Good luck with yours, kirbs
vichris 06-13-2011, 04:55 AM I really like these older style Borla tips. Saw some one Ebay awhile back.....not sure if they are still available.

toupare17 06-13-2011, 10:57 AM Thanks again kerbs. Those quads to look good. Thats pretty much what im going for, but more "box-like" I guess. Never thought of the black powdercoated. Think they would look good since Im going for the murdered out look. Oh well, if I cant get quads I would still definitely be happy with I long rectangle for each side.
IBQWIK 06-24-2011, 12:24 PM How about Stainless Works? They have a large selection of tips.

Lashlarue 06-25-2011, 05:05 PM I thought the stock tips looked a little chintzy till I had my resonator delete done, and as part of his service he polished them, they look great now. It's fun dealing with a perfectionist. He relocated a couple of hangers and there may be two 15* bends from my magnaflows to the tips. Damn near a straight shot.Awesome work for reasonable $. Actually was served bottled water by his wife and we sat at a table and watched him work, right in the shop.
toupare17 06-26-2011, 06:55 AM The stock ones arent bad. I just hate that I can see pipe coming through and into the tip since it isnt very deep when you are looking at it from the back. Need to get some new ones, just waiting for the funds to fall into place.
sheetschuc 06-26-2011, 07:07 AM Toupare17 - I have a 2011 and I am searching for a new exhaust system that has a bit more sound. How do you like the Magnaflow?

I really like it. I didnt get a full system as it is pointless with the SE model unless you plan on doing new headers and all that. So I just got new mufflers and ran fresh pipe from there as well as taking off the resonators. I have videos posted on the SE section if you want to go look. Search Magnaflow exhaust 2011 SE or something. Described more there. Super happy. Soooooo much better than stock. And cheap. The mufflers installed and the labor was like $340 out the door.
sheetschuc 06-27-2011, 06:10 AM thanks I didn't notice you have an SE. I have an SRT with the 396. Love the performance but the sound leaves something to be desired. I think I might take the magna flow plunge....
toupare17 06-27-2011, 07:21 AM Yea they are good stuff. Borla is nice as well but go with a full system whatever you do. You will be pleased, definitely do something though.

That's another peeve of mine that ONLY the Borla's address. Honestly their setup is just the "right" one IMO from the thickness, to the finish and the deepness of the actual piping etc. They sound pretty good as well ;) but I guess this is all useless if you have an SE...
