Hi all,
Z06 owner new to the forum. I am heading down to Texas in a couple weeks to 2K12 with a buddy who has a stage 3 Mr Norms Challenger. Right now he is running 20' 555's but I told him that will be pointless to even go at his power level on those tires. So we are searching for the best setup. I did some searching on here and I see alot of fast guys running hoosier slicks or M&H DR's but I cant find the sizes.

He said he thinks an 18" is the smallest he can fit. I recomended throwing charger rotors/brakes on it and trying to go 16" or 17" (not sure if thats possible either) but he doesnt want to do that. So what is going to be the best tire/wheel for a 900rwhp challenger?

Certain 17" rims will fit clear the rear Brembos. CCW's will clear. Ditch the 555's and go with NT05R's if he is staying with the 20's.

Archtaan,

How well do the nto5r tires hook up. I have a supercharged 426 with 700hp to the tires. What size are you running?

Those are 315's. They hook great but need to be super hot, I hit the line lock and run em hard for about 5 seconds. They air down well but I wouldn't go below 10psi if you have a lot of torque like I do.

Not better than a slick, but the best you can do with a 20" rim. I also have 11" rims and mini-tubs. Not sure about air pressures if you are going to squeeze them on a 9". Do you have stock rear suspension? I have the AFCO drag pack with adjustable front and rear shocks and it hooks like a dream.

Thanks for the info! I think he is going to go the 315 NT05R route since he doenst race often. I guess he will just have to slip the hell out of the clutch.

I have eibach sport line springs and sway bar. No other suspension mods yet. Will be running on a staggered fitment 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear. Put 315s on yesterday and the clear barely but clear nonetheless. I am waiting on my wheels to actually run them on th car. I don't have near the torque you have. Dyno says 720 torque and 699.7 rwhp. That was when the motor was brand new. Not sure now that it's broken in

If you do a 17" rim set up you will actually get a little more gear out of the car. Just an FYI..
