: Will these wheels fit my 2011 R/T?
OHSNAP 04-04-2012, 11:38 PM I currently have the stock 18" wheels that came on my 2011 R/T (you can probably see them in my signature picture). Looking to buy a set of aftermarket 20" wheels. I seriously know nothing about this so I need people to help me verify fitment before I drop $$$. I don't even know what Offset is...please be kind.:dunno:
Here are the specs of what the seller on Ebay has listed:
20" x 8.5" (set of 4)
The bolt pattern is listed as follows: 5x4.5, 5x115, 5x5, 5x135, 5x4.75, 5x135
Offset: -5, +8, +21
I think I want to keep a stock setup, like the stock SRT or RT classic setup, I want to be able to rotate all my tires so I can save on money...yada yada yada.
DADNSONCAR 04-04-2012, 11:57 PM Well the bolt pattern for the Challenger is 5x115, so those should fit. I would make sure I ask the seller that those will fit, even though they should you just want to make sure that if they dont fit you will be able to get a refund. I had a problem where I ordered a set of wheels from a seller on ebay and I ordered the 5x115 and they told me they had them in stock well they ended up sending me 5x114.3, which depending who you talk to will work in some cases and others it wont. The point is I ordered 5x115 and I told them thats what I wanted but yet they still tried to send me the others because the ones I ordered were not in stock. Since you dont have Brembos the offset shouldnt be a issue as far as clearance.
OHSNAP 04-05-2012, 09:51 AM What offset gives me the deepest dish? Or does it not work like that. What are the stock wheel specs for factory 20s

OHSNAP 04-05-2012, 10:03 AM Wheel and tire size/fitment stuff eludes me...what would be appropriate tire sizes for a 20x8.5. Stock 20 tires would be ok obviously right.

You want 5x115, and of those choices you want the +21 offset. Confirm with the seller that this will fit, and get it in writing that they will take them back and send the +8 instead, all shipping paid for by them (and with no restocking fees either), if they're wrong. If they try and BS you, give SD Wheel Corp a chance instead (they're on eBay, will post a link when I get home).
*ETA - I think 255's would fit 8.5" wheels quite nicely. Stock is 245, which will also fit. If you want your speedo to still be accurate afterwards (different tire sizes read differently), try and get as thick a wheel as you can (the middle number, 55 or 50 or 45 or whatever). Your stock tire size is 235/55-18, so that's what you're trying to match up with. Use this website (http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp) to check the different sizes and see what works.

Wow so funny you would say that Rake, the seller I am referring to on Ebay is SD Wheel Corp. You read my mind! So what is the difference between +21 Offset and a +8? Is offset dish related?
So I should be asking for the following:
20"x8.5" (set of 4)
5x115
+21 Offset
is that it?
And what about tire sizes, i believe SD Wheel Corp also sells tires as well...
Thanks :)

thanks, i will make sure to get 5x115
So what is the difference between +21 Offset and a +8? Is offset dish related?
Dish has nothing to do with offset, no. Offset determines how far inside the wheel well the wheel sits. Lower numbers push it further out, larger numbers move it further in. The +21 will put the wheel at about the same place as the stock wheel, while the +8 will put it close to the edge of the fender. Both will work, but the +21 is preferable.
So I should be asking for the following:
20"x8.5" (set of 4)
5x115
+21 Offset
is that it?Yes. Make sure to confirm this, though, as the +21 may be for other cars. The wheels I got from SD came in +2 and -4 because that's what it took to get the wheels to clear the brakes. If you go to far inside with your offset, the spokes on your wheels will hit. Different designs have different clearances, so this is where offset comes into play.
And what about tire sizes, i believe SD Wheel Corp also sells tires as well...I didn't get tires from them, but according to the calculator, these sizes should match up pretty well with your speedo. How this works is that, when your speedo says you're going 60 mph, this is what you'll actually be doing:
245/40-20 (60.9 mph)
245/45-20 (58.9 mph)
255/40-20 (60.3 mph)
255/45-20 (58.2 mph)
265/40-20 (59.6 mph)
275/35-20 (61.3 mph)
275/40-20 (58.9 mph)
I like summer tires, so I would ask for Nitto NT555's, Nitto Invo's or Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's. If you wanted an all season tire, I would ask for either Kumho Ecsta ASX's or Continental ExtremeContact DW or DWS.
OHSNAP 04-06-2012, 05:56 PM Thank you Rake you are super helpful...you tha man! I feel better now. I havent seen the wheels i want on any challenger yet, anxious to see what they will look like. Now i just have to contact SD wheel corp and hope they have my stuff in stock.
