just put my Stack Bullet intake on my car the other day and wanted to share my experience with you guys for anyone thinking of buying one of these.
first off, keep in mind that i installed the SRT chin spoiler WITHOUT the brake ducts on my R/T so the opening in the front is bathing the filter with fresh air any time the car is moving. i opted to buy the pre filter sock that they offer to keep bugs and other bigger debris off the filter. also, since i only drive my car in the summer on dry days, i'm not worried about ingesting water, but i think that pre filter would take care of that anyways.
seat of the pants feel (i know some guys dont go by that) there is definitely more snap off the throttle. ESPECIALLY when i'm moving. cruising down an open back road in 4th and rolling the throttle on really feels more responsive. the front end rises in 4th when i stab the throttle at 40-50 mph!
i probably wont be able to get to the track until the fall so i dont have 1/4 times to compare or dyno numbers, but after taking it out today which today is about 85 degrees and humid as hell, i can say FOR SURE that there is an improvement in low end acceleration and throttle snap. i drive the same loop of roads when i go out cruising so i can tell how the car felt before and after in certain gears. i cant wait for some cool air!
only con is that to access the filter, its a bit of a PITA, but my car is a toy and i'll service the filter once a year while its in winter storage so its no big deal for me.
everything feels quality and it was all a tight fit with good directions. if you are thinking about this intake, i'd say go for it and if you can, do the SRT spoiler in the front for that opening. i think that makes a big difference with a fender pull intake like this.
