OK everyone...

So I get a sweet smell, however very faint, sometimes when running the AC. I dont use the heat here in Vegas :)

So of course I am thinking heater core, or tubing leak...but I have noticed also there is no condensation/water drip from the engine when I park which I got back in NY. Maybe the dry air? But I also just saw a post about a plugged AC outlet of some type could be the cause of smell and no drip...

Any ideas are appreciated on diagnosing this further...

Thanks everyone...

I had the same problem. I took mine to the dealer and they asked me if I use it in recirculation mode alot. Aparently if you use recirc alot it can get musty, not sure why. Anyway, they told me to crack a window and use the regular mode. They also used some type of ac evaporator cleaner foam and shot it inside the evaporator and let it sit for awhile and then flushed it out.

I had also complained of no condensation dripping and they said that is normal. When they flushed the condenser they looked for a plugged drain which dumps out on top of the seft side of the trans up above the torqe converter. The water came out fine so they said there was no problem. This was done last year and it has been fine since then but now that the weather is getting hotter I notice a little of the smell again.

Good luck, take it to the dealer and insist that they clean it.

Just an update...

Sweet smell is no more...I dont recirc air, but it has gone with any use of the AC

So maybe a win there for now...

You don't say what year your car is but open the cabin filter access door on the right cowl area. Look for any debris. If your car has the cabin filter, it might need changed.
