Hi all. I've been off the last few days and was looking around the web for my next interior change. I saw on BTs website the overlays for the auto gear boxes and thought I wonder if I can just paint it the same color as my hood vents.
I started by removing the chrome trim around the shifter. There are a total of 6 clips holding it in(w on each side). I used the smallest flat head screwdriver that I had and wrapped it in painters tape so it wouldn't scratch anything. Once that was off I noticed that the piece is just clipped onto the console. Undid those clips and out it came. Took about 10 minutes to get out.

Then I sanded the piece and put on 3 coats of duplicolor and a coat of clear coat. Then I let it completely dry overnight.

Took about 5 minutes to put everything back together this morning.

Did the same thing with mine, I like the interior look I just wish they would have added some break in the color scheme. Thats why I've started to paint some of my parts to give it some pop and stand out from others. Just painted my radio Bezel today.

I've been looking everywhere to buy one that was already done but just can't find one! My charger Daytona came that way stock and it looked way nicer than the plain! Now I'm wanting to do the same tl my challenger. That's a nice idea you had!!

Hi i have been looking at chrome shift plate and vent trim chrome. How did you remove trim? Plastic pry bars around chrome trim above trim plate? Ant sugestions would help thanks
