Will Southern Ontario allow 426 or 392 stroker and or supercharging? I'm considering both blocks supercharged etc. Would it make me fail emissions on my new 2012 R/T Classic? Does anyone have experience or knowledge on this? If it did then what? They don't outlaw superchargers here do they? I know I was talking to someone in the states, and some areas in the US will look over the car, and the minute they see a turbo or supercharger, they fail it! ACK!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to do this, but not if it means in 5 years when it comes up for emissions testing, the car is found to be unfit and I can't drive her anymore :(

BTW not as important, but can you put in either of the 392s, the bigger and the smaller, or only one?

OH NO. i just called the Shop "Bill's Auto" here in town that does my emissions tests. They cannot confirm that the smog test (which is only along the 401 highway where I live - not even applied fairly to the entire Province/State) will be gone anytime soon.

He said:
1. Currently they don't plug into any PCM, just tail pipe readings
2. Currently their is a new program coming into Ontario in January of 2013.
3. He has 'heard' that it might NOW require plugging into a PCM as well, but he can't confirm yet as noone gets trained for this new program until September.
4. Call the Ontario Drive Clean office and ask them....

He said he doesn't know for sure, but worries that if they ask for Ontario to plug into a PCM, and it comes back 2010 and doesnt match the year of the vehicle or a VIN or something, that it might disqualify the car immediately argh!!!!

Off to call the stupid government. Wish they had a provision for show cars or collectible cars or very rarely driven cars.

Does anyone with supercharged cars in Windsor / Essex have anything to add. I'm currently looking to modify my R/T and would like more info. Thanks

Some people on the web say this program has been in some states for a while now. They say it checks only certain things. Ask about that.

With a properly tuned S/C engine you should be able to pass emissions with no problems,
Just pick a kit that it CARB legal IE: Procharger/Vortec/Edlebrock

Hopefully youre right, but what about the fact that with a 12, you have to get a 10 computer and flash it, would that conflict with OBD3?

Also what about putting in a 440 stroker, or a 426 supercharged? would that pass? thats what i need to find out.

There is at least one guy in the Southern Ontario Challenger group with a 426 stroker. Quite a few with supers.
In the Canada Regional area of the forums, poke a hello in there or look for the group on Facebook. Most of us have migrated there for ease of communication.
