: Long Tubes Vs Shortys?

Ok I know this has been deabted on end, but anyway heres another header thread. I've got a $2000 health waiver bonus headed my way next month courtesy of Obama and I would like to replace the stock headers on my 2010 R/T Auto.

As of now I'm either going to go with one of the following:

JBA Shortys (either silver coated or titanium ceramic coating...not sure of the difference on those) : ~$500

or

ARH Long Tubes: ~$1500

From what I've gathered on this forum, there are ways to pass a NYS inspection with longtubes using foulers and what not. From my searches though many guys bought hi flow cats along with the headers so I have had a hard time getting a straight answer as to whether or not I will pass.

Also it would be great to see some before/after dyno's if anyone has them, long or short tubes. From what I have read though looking at 5-7 RWHP from shortys and 25-30 RWHP from LT's. The rest of my mods are in my sig.

Thanks guys:drink4:

Likewise I have a '10 R/T auto classic. With Stainless Works LT's (no cats), Corsa exhaust, Mopar CAI, Airaid throttle body spacer, Pedator 93 octane and custom tune dynoed @ 400 rwhp and 450 rwtq. But remember if you remove the factory cats, no power train warranty, at least that's what I'm told. Just my 2 cents. Sorry I can't help you about passing admissions, I live in the hills "don't need no stinking emissions testing"! Good luck.

I installed SRT shorty's and mids (very similar to JBA shorty's) along with a dynotune. Went from 325whp/350wtq to 350whp/390wtq on a Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer. If you install LT's, you will need to get a custom tune.

Have Aria CAI, Corsa catback and 85mm TB as well. 25 whp and 40 wtq gain. Used the cats that came with the SRT mids - I too have to worry about emissions in AZ. I went conservative as eventually I'm installing a supercharger. If you go with the JBA's, I've been told to throw away the felt gaskets that come with the JBA's and buy some metal OEM gaskets.

Here's my dyno sheet, hope this info helps. Red is before tune and SRT exhaust, blue is after:

Those are great gains from the SRT headers. Im not too keen on losing my powertrain warranty until I have a replacement dd. Might just have to go with ST for now. :( the ARH sound meannnn.

Anyone know of any good tuners on/near Long Island?
