I am shopping for an aftermarket exhaust and i was wondering how those two compare in sound. I really like solo's note but haven't heard much of Borla but i really like their quality pipes and tips. has anyone here heard both?

One friend has the Borla in his Charger, and another has one in his Challenger. I just didn't like the sound of it all that much. I heard the Solo on another car, and I loved it. It's been on a little bit over a year now, and I never get tired of it.

I have the Solo on my auto rt and I am not happy with it. I researched for months and it came down to Borla and Solo for me too. I will be going back to stock.

I have the Solo Mach-X on my 6 speed and really like it a lot.

It took a while for the exhaust to "cure" but it sounds sweet now. On the system without the J-pipes there is a bit of cabin drone between 1600-2000 rpm, I have learned to "drive around it" by choosing another gear (up or down). I have added some DynaMat in the trunk and that has muffled it somewhat. Maybe I am just used to it now, my wife claims to have not noticed the drone at all so all is well.

I noticed an immediate increase in throttle responsiveness. Some mention reduced low-end power but, sincer I don't race, I haven't noticed it. I do notice the increased torque throughout the power-band though as well as the throaty tone. Even just cruising I notice heads turn as I approach....love it.

Thanks for the input guys, I am leaning towards the solo for the sound but i love the Borla's perfect looks for our cars. I wish there were more detailed clips, they posted great in-depth ones for the different kits available for the mustang, camaro and 392 but nothing good for the 6.1's

You might like prefect look of the borla but you'll love the perfect fit of the solo. They offer two different tips too or you can use the stock tips.

I actually like the look of solos round quads but sorry their square quads look really bad. they are an odd shape/size and too chunky. The finish is also super-shiny and cheap looking, like chrome plated plastic, but at the price you can't complain and the sound is amazing, 2nd only to Zoomers.

I like to hear the old school sound, whether Borla or Solo or other!
