Just got a CEL for the first time ....3,500 Mi. on Odo.
System shows P2099. Could it possibly be from the AirAid CAI that I installed a few weeks ago?

28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM)/Diagnosis and Testing

P2099-DOWNSTREAM FUEL TRIM SYSTEM 2 RICH

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

When Monitored: With the engine running in closed loop, the ambient/battery temperature above -7°C (20°F) and altitude below 8500 ft.
Set Condition: The conditions that cause this diagnostic to fail is when the upstream O2 Sensor becomes biased from an exhaust leak, O2 Sensor contamination, or some other extreme operating condition. The downstream O2 Sensor is considered to be protected from extreme environments by the catalyst. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the downstream O2 Sensor feedback control, called downstream fuel trim, to detect any shift in the upstream O2 Sensor target voltage from nominal target voltage. The value of the downstream fuel trim is compared with the lean thresholds. Every time the value exceeds the calibrated threshold, a fail timer is incremented and mass flow through the exhaust is accumulated. If the fail timer and accumulated mass flow exceed the fail thresholds, the test fails and the diagnostic stops running for that trip. If the test fails on consecutive trips, a DTC is set.

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure) (https://w05.dealerconnect.chrysler.com/service/mds2002/getSoftLink.do?NewSoftLinkId=2800000003536&VID=3176678371&TOCSRCNAME=NAS&YEAR=2011&MDSLOCALE=en_US).

1.EXHAUST LEAK

NOTE:A thorough exhaust leak test must be completed before removing an O2 Sensor or any other part from the exhaust system. Do not remove any parts before an exhaust leak check has been completed.
NOTE:An exhaust leak may cause downstream fuel adaptives to rail out, resulting in a false O2 Sensor failure1.Perform the diagnostic procedure for CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR LEAKS. Thanks for that in depth reply!
So from what I can understand from that, its probably not the CAI....but an exhaust issue?

That's a downstream (post cat O2 sensor) fuel trim code for Bank 2 running rich (pass. side).

Either there's an issue with the primary 02 sensor not operating correctly or further upstream with a cylinder not having complete combustion or a leaky injector could be another cause.

There is a TSB fix for this. Get the flash and it will be fixed. There was also a run of 392s with salt inside the pin connectors on the O2 sensors which caused voltage bleeding between pins and threw a code. So have the dealer pull the harnesses and clean them out and then apply a thin coating of dielectric on the harness face and you'll be fine. Nothing to do with CAI - purely coincidental.

Thanks.
I made an appointment with Dealer service. Think I should go thru the trouble of putting back the stock intake so they don't say it was caused by the AirAid CAI?

That seems to be a MDS control valve fault code.

Just got back from Dealer Service. Replaced 2 O2 sensors. They said the CEL was probably due to the AirAid CAI. If it happens again, I'll know for sure....& put it back to stock intake!

Did they do the TSB flash? Only a certain number of 392s were affected. It would result in this code after an extended highway run at 60-70 MPH, where the PCM incorrectly tripped the code for no reason.

They checked for TSB, but not necessary on my car, it was up to date.

Mine was the same way - TSB up to date. I had the same code after hammering on it. He said the O2 sensors had salt in the harnesses and replaced them, and it's been fine ever since. And this was with the stock OE intake. Your CAI didn't create that code - otherwise everyone would be getting it.

If you mean P2037, it's Reductant Inj. Air Press Sensor Circ.

Any ideas what's causing it? That's the code.... I have a 2010 Rt 6spd high flow jba cats, jba shorties, Zoomers exhaust. Approx 1000 miles after doing these mods and cel went on July 4th. Can an intune/predator tune clear this up or make whatever adjustments needed for whatever is causing this? I'm praying I don't have a bad cat with only 1000 miles or something crazy going on.

i live in a small town and i had the same code 3 separate times each time they replaced the 02 sen . finally there was an update that fixed it. MY 392 was built around May, 11. if that helps

P0420 is the code... Sorry, I was playing with the evic and I guess I read it wrong. From what I found out, its the bank one (left?) O2 sensor? I was able to reset it at the dealer today but was told it will prob. come back. My question is, should I get those o2 extensions from big daddys garage? Or should I just get an intune and shut them off? Will either one work? Is one means of fixing it better than the other?

This happened to me at around 2,000 total miles. I was on a 300 mile road trip. Dealer replace O2 senser and I have just under 12,000 total miles on my car now and it has never returned.
