I installed the pipes with the glass packs today. My wife helped me (handed me tools and helps in lining up the tips) and it took an hour and a half start to finish. Easy. She things she could do it herself. Nice install. Fits perfect. Looks good. Sounds like you would expect a stock hit car to sound. Well worth it. Perfect. Great deal. If it was available in stainless it woukd be worth 100 to 150 more. Deeper tone, idle, etc. still very street able. Sounds healthy and still sounds like a 50k car.

I'm interested in this. Any drone?

I've had this on my car since about a month after I got it and I love it. Drones pretty bad around 2k rpms but you can easily shift out of it. Sounds stock nearly at 70 mph. I don't have a good video of just the exhaust but if you search on here and find it there's a video of me racing my mom in her viper and you can hear it pretty good in that video.

Edit* sorry mine is the straight pipe one without the glass packs.

The glasspacks do drone but not bad or unbarrable. and it mostly happenes at around 1800 to 2000 RPMs.

Yeah, I wouldn't be looking at the glass pack ones, just the straight pipes. I wonder how easy it is to shift around that at cruising speed....

Not hard at all :)

If I tried to race my mom she would cut my jacobs off.....

Not what I call drone. The stock car drones in a similar fashion, if you roll the windows up and listen you will hear it at similar rpm. Not annoying, all cars have a resonance frequency/rpm. Actually sounds cool no popping, etc. on decel. Quite at cruise in 6th like stock. Could have come from dodge like this and I cannot imagine anyone complaining. Add personality.

Hmmm, now is it only the glasspacks that pop on decel?

Sometimes I search for that 2k resonance. Highly recommend this mod. Crabfatslim is on it!

Actually it is the straight pipe version that may pop crackle on decel. That is why I got the ones with the glass packs. I could not stand the car doing that. I never liked it on any vehicle I have had. Cars or bikes. Sounds cheap to me, like a poor tune.

Mine doesn't pop or crackle on decel, not that I've noticed anyways. And I tend to downshift to 2nd or 3rd when I'm stopping most of the time.

I put the same kit on my R/T and have made some interesting observations about the drone. Shifting around the 1.8 to 2K helps the most, and that is easy since I never run with the MDS on. The wife and I were on a little road trip last weekend and were commenting that the car was "quieter" inside. I filled up when the tank was just below half and the car was immediately uncomfortably loud inside for her at the same RPM's. Whe the tank level went down to about 3/4, it went back to what we call "normal", so a full tank transmits the noise much more into the cabin. I am now going to not fill it above 3/4 when running with the wife. This minor nuisance is no issue for me, as the car sounds fantastic, was way too quiet stock.

Mine is straight pipe and does not crackle or pop. Never made any correlation with fuel tank level but it seems plausible.

When I listened to the on line comparisons between the R/T 6 speed BB glass packs vs straight pipes, I could hear how the straight pipes "fluttered" somewhat on decel.

That was the main reason why I went with the glass packs, and couldn't be happier.

Has anyone wondered about how the exhaust tips seem to have a smaller I'd (hole) than the 3" exhaust pipe itself?

I have heard flutter in some exhaust systems in these cars and really don't like it. Maybe because mine is an 11' and has the canister style mufflers it does absolutely no fluttering.

My pipes aren't 3" but never noticed the tip has a smaller hole, if they do they gotta go!

I noticed that as well, the initial part of the tip is 3" then it funnels to like a 2 1/2" or something close.

I drove it today for 100 miles with the windows up. Some drone around 1650 to 1900 or so. Not bad, easy to drive around. Sounds great to me. It did seem to become more obvious with a full tank than it did with 1/4 tank.

I measured the id of the stock pipe and the tip. The tip is definitely at least 1/4" smaller, narrower. Does anyone know of an aftermarket tip?? Is the Mopar Tip larger?? Did Dodge cheap out and use the RT tip??

Sounds like a business opportunity. Is the mopar tip any larger?

No, it has the same inlet. MPRB has a 3" inlet tip but I don't think you can buy it separately.

Definitely droning with windows up. Pretty annoying at times. Can drive around it. Windows down perfect sound, but up drones. 1700-2100 give or take gear, 50 rpm, light throttle position or load as in slight uphill.
