Hey all - I put a "build-my-own" CAI in my charger 3.5L looking to put a cold air intake on my Challenger SE

would you go with this

I have the K&N set up and it fits great, looks good, and sounds good as well. your choice though, I found the K/N was the only intake available to me and I've had K/N 's in all my vehicles.

I put a C&L Performance (http://cnlperformance.com/index.html) CAI in my SRT. It looked good, sounded good and is ready for a bigger throttle body.

I dont think that mopar one will fit unless the picture is wrong. I think there is a difference between the 3.5L and the 3.5 L HO which is what we have

I also have the K+N 63 series intake. It sounds and looks great and there is also a noticeable gain in hp/tq. The filter itself is pretty large, with plenty of surface area and the install was pretty simple and doesn't take long at all. I got a pretty good deal on mine from HHP. Usually $321 online, got mine on sale at HHP for $267. Not sure how long the sale is/was though.

Aren't all the 3.5L engines HO's? the other V6 (charger/300) is a 2.7L (why do they even offer this)

I think they are two different engines. Look at the picture on the link he provided...it's a totally different engine with no "HO" embossed like on ours

Hey fellow Canuck.

Do you happen to have a picture of your K&N installed? How does it look? I'm also debating on which kind of CAI to use.

OK...Not promoting K & N but...look at the pic's
The Mopar is not the same engine or set up...!
The Air Raid, kinda defeats the purpose using the stock air intake tube.

Looks like the K & N is your best bet....you can order it thru Auto Zone or your local Parts house dealer...good luck...!

I got my K & N at Auto Zone within a few day's

No problem, Thanks Canuck. That looks prefect.

HP gain ?

Does it sound good?

Did you purchase it on-line ?

One more question, I've seen so many from K&N, which model would I need to fit my SXT 3.5 ?

I used part # 63-1117 from K+N. It a 63 series intake. Sounds great and has a noticeable performance gain. I was actually surprised that it came with a pretty large filter with a large amount of surface area. Everything mounts nice and easy and it looks great. Love mine :bigthumb:

Does installation of the K&N CAI cause any warranty problems in Canada?

not yet, the dealer knows it's in, but i have a good rep with them so I can't see any warranty issues coming from them. THe other dealership were quick to jump to the intake with my misfire issue, yet that issue started 2mos before I bought my intake??? hahaha

Nice looks great ....did you have to remove the wheelwell to remove a lower air box?

That's how it was on my Charger, not sure if the challenger is the same

no I left the lower half in as I'm currently upgrading the front spolier from the SRT8 with the ducts directed into the lower half for a bit more forced air.

I have a K&N in mine. Love it. Myself an others that have it notice better throttle response and a louder, more aggressive sound. I've used K&N for years and have never had an issue with them.
