what is the real world times everyone is getting with a stock 2010 srt8? mine is a 6speed, has mopar cai, headers and exhaust. not sure about brand of headers and exhaust. havent looked that much into it yet.
a few weeks ago i did the 1/4 mile on a back road flat around 95 degrees. i know i really need to work on my launch. i ran a 16.5 at 85mph. i spun through third.
this is my first hp car and am still getting used to it. my dad always had fast cars and i could turn to him for help but he is no longer here. ive seen him run high 11s at the track in his 94 5.0 blown mustang. and high 12s in the 03 cobra.
from what i have read this car is 12.4 second capable stock, put that is on a perfect day. the guys that run 6 speeds, do you run with traction on or off?
I've raced four different six speeds, including a 392 twice. Won the 1st by a whisker, second ,his 30 second burnout put him into limp mode at the tree.Srt8 was no contest as the owner let his 16 year old son drive, think it was his 1st time to drive a stick. It was not pretty! Three RT's none within three carlengths in the 1/8th.My one 1/4 mile pass was with added fuel, that slowed me .2. Dyno operator said add fuel, I added too much.Still whipped a 2002 Camaro Ls1 by a bunch, so bad he shut down at the 1/8th mile mark.Drag times has my time slips listed, although my best 1/8ths were too faint to scan, track printer needed ink.
I don't know about 12.4 stock. Never heard or seen a stock 2010 M6 SRT run 12.4 stock!
I've ran a best in my 2010 SRT8 M6 completely stock down to the air filter of 13.1. I average about 13.2 to 13.4. My wife has ran the car and pulled a best of 13.7.
The car is capable of high 12s on a perfect day with a slight tail wind stock...add a few power adders and dyno tune and I'd say high 12s all day long.
Get into heads, cams and full exhaust with a solid dyno tune and you should see low 12s...add drag radials and you might, might taste the 11s if you are a great driver.
I launch the car with TC on too...no burn out (drive around the water box), pop the clutch once before the start line to get anything off the tires, launch around 2,200 rpm and feather the throttle down to the floor at lunch.
No lift shift to second, no lift shift to third and depending on the DA that day, I might have to hit fourth.
Constant 2.1 - 2.2 60ft times and trap speeds around 108 - 111 mph.

Are you using the F1 tires? I have tried launching between 1500-2000 and the axle hop is terrible for me. I have tried the no lift shifting w/o success yet (need to practice). My trap speeds avg 103-105mph. I try to avoid the water box, same pop the clutch idea. My 60 foot avg is 2.2-2.4. That is with both t/c on or off.
I always have to hit 4rth gear or I red line/fuel cut, are you just holding 3rd just below redline?
2010 SRT 6speed and completely stock including the F1 tires. Best I have done is 13.45 at the track, consistently around 13.6-13.9 (I am a rank amature at this).
I don't know what has been done to this car before I got it, but was told it ran a 12.47. I put a mopar CAI on it. Hopefully put a catch can and thermo. On it this weekend. Tried talking the wife into letting me spray it but no luck so far
The manual will be more fun to drive but slower than the same car with an auto... just the way things are at the track. My auto '10 SRT8 on F1's did a best of 13.22/108. Friends of mine with sticks struggle to find the perfect shift/throttle mix. Full long tube headers on a stock SRT8 is overkill; you gain hp but loose torque. Torque is what gets these fat cars moving. Search here for info on tuning your engine. Stu and Johan are the best there are at it and can email you tunes based on datalogging you provide them. Oh yeah, if you dont have it, you need a Diablo Predator to help in all this.
Thanks fo the info. I'm pretty sure these are short tube headers. I would get a predator but from what I've read they are obsolete. Every one seems to be switching to InTune. I played around the other day. Starting in second at 25 I got it to 110 before I hit 4th and started shutting it down. I need to get a fuzz buster!
As mentioned by another poster I seem to lift a little on shift but back in it before the shift is complete.
I just bought a 2014 Challenger RT, 5.7 liter Hemi, Automatic Transmission. I've added the Mopar cold air intake, and for the exhaust, cat-bak, Flow master 40. I'm using the stock exhaust, simply replaced the mufflers with flow master 40's and removed the resonators at the end, replacing with just straight pipes.
1) I know what the dealer/specs say, but what should I expect my car to run the quarter mile?,
2)how many horse power do you think I now have ?
3) Does the on board computer measure it somewhere like the 0-60 time? how are you guys clocking this?
4)what is "60 foot avg "?
Well....there's a little more to narrowing down the 1/4 mile time. Where your located (sea level), ambient temp, da, track prep or road prep, stock tires vs drag radials your driving experience in launching a car all play a part in your eventual time. Watch some YouTube videos of different tracks...in Colorado you will see stock srt's in the high 13's and RT'S in the 14's.....conversely at a track like Atco in New Jersey 1/4 mile times are usually faster....RT'S are running low 13's stock. Sorry if that was a long winded way to say that there is no clear answer.

Yesterday at Texas Motorplex I got a personal best of 12.8. Launching a 6 speed is difficult with street tires and 455 lbs of torque. May have to invest in some drags.
BTW, can you power shift these cars?
Oh man!!! Well, yeah that's far past mine!! However, dodge claims it will run mid 12 off the lot, with no modifications and the RT, will supposedly do 13.5.
If yours is doing 12.8 with all that going on, that would make me think mine would be stretching to do 16's
I know its not an SRT8... like the OP asked about but my 13' R/T 6 spd has run the best of 13.53@107.20.... Only mods at the time were the reso delete and CAI... wheel spin off the line and each gear change.... was running stock tires@32psi....
I let it sit for an hour after an hour drive to the track with the hood open and it was much cooler days. Sea level, great DA( Usually - 350/375) and ZERO humidity. 28 psi in the rear, 38 psi up front. Spare/jack removed, 1/4 tank of gas, custom tune but also running TORCO race gas accelerate. It was also my first modded AWD Hemi and I was still experimenting with launching it. I used to disengage AWD after the launch by pressing the ESC to turn it off after the 60 ft. sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't (shows on the EVIC screen). It's a 68(rear)/32(front) split, I figure it would decrease parasitic drag if I switched it to RWD right after the launch, which it did. It was a hit or miss so I never messed with it again, I only hit 12.5's a few times so I never really counted it, but I did hit 12.8/12.9's nearly every run that year. Those runs were full weight, no gas additives. I used to race a member online here, I believe his screen name is "John Matthews".
Funny thing is, a year later when I installed a supercharger I was also hitting 12.5 but at 111-112mph with a Magnacharger at 6 psi. The supercharger system weighed it down by like 130 lbs. on the front end of the motor so it kind of negated it's gains! lol Big difference was after a cool down, it would run 12.1's, no way my NA car would do that.
Custom tuned at 400 or so hp (crank), 4289 lbs. 93 octane custom tune, 3500 stall, AWD.. those cars were unicorns of the AWD LX world. 1st gen body with the much stronger 370hp motor and much improved AWD system from the previous years (clutch system vs open diff type). With a blower it was a monster lol
This is a stock 2009 Challenger R/T?!? Those times are just not possible with 350 RWHP. (And if you're stock, you should have 325 - 330). There are some factory freaks that have 345 or so, but even that doesn't get them to times like yours....
Yep, it's an FTI. It was suppose to be a 3200 stall, but seems to go a bit higher. Never checked the logs to see exactly where though.
Definitely streetable though, I've got around 40k on it already.
Also, who's running high 11s in a 5.7? The quickest bolt on 5.7 that I know of is only running a 12.3 with a full interior. I haven't even seen decent track times from cam'd eagle 5.7s yet.
I was generalizing with that 11 second statement, but on another LX forum site I am on there seems to be a lot of guys running decent times NA, either 5.7 or 6.1 engines. I believe a member by the name of "NovaWagonMaster" was doing some impressive stuff with his Challenger build before he went with a built motor and ran 10's in it.
I don't expect miracles from bolt on's but low 12's seems about right for these cars, which is pretty good considering all the spotlight about 5.0's running low 12's with next to nothing. :indifferent:
My Charger is so heavy (4450lbs.), it'll take either a cam and long tubes or a stroker motor to run low 12's which is more than I want to spend honestly. Considering the 5.7 Challengers can hit low 12's with bolt on's and tires whereas my 09 needed a blower to do it is even more impressive imo. Of course it was a measly 6 psi, where if I were to crank it out to 8 psi it would have most likely seen 11's. These engines aren't exactly boost friendly with their thin top ring lands though.
Yeah Nova was running 11.7's if memory serves me right. But I also believe he had a gutted interior and aftermarket cam. I'm tempted to pull everything out of my car for 1 day at the track, but I doubt I'll ever do it. Lol I just want a 12.2, and I'll be happy..hoping a custom tune can get me there this year.
