2010 SRT 8 Challenger & 2010 Camaros at dragstrip today.

Brand new 2010 Challenger Srt8 Auto and 2 2010 Camaros SS at strip today. One Camaro was an auto and other 6speed. The Challenger was totally stock 900 miles on it. He was running 13.20's at plus 107 mph. Nice to see the car doing what is supposed to do. The Camaros on the other hand weren't fairing so will. Camaro auto was son of new Challenger owner. He was running 14.30s at 101 mph. It was brand new also. Other Camaro 6speed was having a hard time trying to figure out how to drive the manual. Won't comment on his times. Was nice to see the new cars there. I made a pass against the Challenger and he beat by .03 et in 1/4 mile and 2.3 mph. I guess if you want race a challenger you need a automatic.

I really liked seeing a couple camaros at our track running at the same time we do. The DA today was 2000~2400' (80 degrees here today). The auto Camaro was definitely slower than I expected. The guy driving it was very nice and was actually dissapointed. The best I seen him run was a 14.3x at 101. With only 101 mph that tells me it was down on HP for some reason.

The other kid in the 6 spd just plain did not know what he was doing. I am sure it will go faster than the 16.xx times he was getting....LOL. Both were nice cars, but I have to admit, I really liked seeing the "Dad" in the SRT put to his son in the Camaro. I talked to them both before they ran and both cars were completely bone stock. The SRT will go 12's fore sure in good air.

I looked the car over...100% bone stock....no tune or anything. He even left the spare tire pump in the trunk.

The track prep was pretty good today. No one was really having any spinning issues.

The Auto-Camaro is down on HP compared to the SRT (only 400HP), and seems to have been given a very conservative factory tune. Most Dynos I have seen for the L99 Auto have been between 310 and 330. With that, they will need a tune to keep up with the SRT8's.

thank you dodgetony and hemi woman. pops got me good today. indeed the car is totally stock although it wont be for long haha. After cooling the car off for a couple hours i did get a best of 13.93 @103. This is still slower than i was expecting as i was hoping to see 13.5's at the most. It was a great time getting to the track again and great watching you run. Hemiwoman...that was actually my uncle and niece that you ran. When they got back he said she was screaming all the way down the track...haha. well again thanks for the great welcome, hope to run with you again soon!!

2010 SS...it was good meeting you and we had a good time at the track. I am sure your car will go alot faster. I was sort of expecting mid 13's from you also...but it was hot today. Anyhow, it is nice to have guys show up, meet at the track for the first time in different brand cars and have a good time racing. Afterall we are all car guys and having fun is what it is really all about.
This is the first Camaro I got a chance to see up close. Nice ride!!

It was great seeing the cars against each other. Nice to see new Camaros out and at the track. I can tell you one thing, I won't run your dad till I learn how to drive better. The auto is much easier to race than the 6speed and he is faster than me. HA HA!!!
